It is the season of giving but make sure you do your research on who you are giving to.

A lot of scammers will take advantage of your giving spirit, AARP Elderwatch staff wants to make sure your charity is legit before you write a check.

"Make sure you research your charity before giving money because just make sure your money is going to the cause you want it to be going to. That the other thing we are seeing lost of complaints about this time of year, as the last few weeks of the year are winding down. Those last-minute charitable solicitations are going to be coming ou.," said Mark Fetterhoff, with AARP Elderwatch.
