Rwanda's 41 Ordinary Courts and Their Locations

Rwanda's judiciary system is divided into several layers, and at the bottom of the hierarchy, there are Primary Courts, or "Inkiko z'Ibanze" in Kinyarwanda. These courts are spread across the country, with each district hosting at least one Primary Court. The 41 Primary Courts are located in various districts of Rwanda’s four provinces (Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western) and Kigali City.

Here is a general overview of their distribution:

Kigali City:

1. Nyarugenge Primary Court
2. Gasabo Primary Court
3. Kicukiro Primary Court

Northern Province:

1. Musanze Primary Court
2. Gicumbi Primary Court
3. Burera Primary Court
4. Rulindo Primary Court
5. Gakenke Primary Court

Southern Province:

1. Huye Primary Court
2. Nyanza Primary Court
3. Gisagara Primary Court
4. Nyamagabe Primary Court
5. Ruhango Primary Court
6. Kamonyi Primary Court
7. Muhanga Primary Court
8. Nyaruguru Primary Court

Eastern Province:

1. Rwamagana Primary Court
2. Kayonza Primary Court
3. Kirehe Primary Court
4. Ngoma Primary Court
5. Nyagatare Primary Court
6. Gatsibo Primary Court
7. Bugesera Primary Court

Western Province:

1. Rusizi Primary Court
2. Nyamasheke Primary Court
3. Karongi Primary Court
4. Rutsiro Primary Court
5. Rubavu Primary Court
6. Ngororero Primary Court
7. Nyabihu Primary Court

These courts handle cases of minor civil, criminal, and administrative nature within their jurisdiction.
